World Series of Poker (WSOP)
WSOP started in the year 1970 from Binion's Horseshoe Casino located in Las Vegas. The owner, Benny, gathered six successful poker players for a single set stop timed tournament. The casino along with the rights for WSOP was then purchased by Harrah's Entertainment in 2004. From then on, the WSOP is arranged at Harrah's Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino!

World Series of Poker
Since 1970, WSOP has flourished massively and now includes around 60 tournaments where you can play card games for real money; the biggest event is being the No Limit Texas Hold 'Em tournament with a $10,000 buy-in. Today, the $50 000 High Roller is the costliest tournament in WSOP.
World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE)
After three years from purchase of Binion’s casino, the Harrah’s started WSOPE in 2007. It was the first WSOP chain event arranged outside Las Vegas.
The WSOPE invited players of 18 years of age at London, unlike WSOP that used to invite players with a minimum age limit of 21 (according to US gambling laws). WSOPE encourages players globally.
World Poker Tour (WPT)
WPT exclusively involves global poker tournaments on Texas Hold'em. Although the brand coverage extends throughout the world, the WPT is predominantly confined to the US.
The WPT stated back in 2002 by a US attorney and TV producer, Steven Lipscomb. WPT was continued by the WPT Enterprises until November 2009 when PartyGaming purchased it for $12.3 million. The tour since then gets on-aired and is popular among poker players among 2000s.
European Poker Tour (EPT)
Two years from the formation of WPT, in 2004, the EPT was started by John Duthie. For an onscreen show in Europe, EPT receives sponsors from PokerStars, and is recorded by Sunset + Vine. The season is made life even for 90 minutes long shows too!
Unlike WPT that has six players only, EPT allows eight poker players in the final rounds. Initially, EPT had relatively small buy-ins compared to WPT; however, this is not the case anymore!
Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT)
The AAPT began in 2007 with sponsors from PokerStars for TV broadcast. Initially, the AAPT tours were held in Philippines, South Korea, China and Australia. Later on, another stop of New Zealand was added to the list!
Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT)
The LAPT debuted back in 2008 with sponsors from PokerStars, and was held at three stops in the inaugural season; Uruguay, and the capital cities Brazil, Costa Rica respectively.
North American Poker Tour
Similar to APPT, EPT and LAPT, the NAPT began as another televisual tournament in the year 2010. It is aired in the US by ESPN2. Prominent stops of NAPT include the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas, and “The Bike” (NAPT Los Angeles at Bicycle Casino).
